Let's take the ferry to Larkspur and from there hike to Mill Valley, and then to Sausalito. We will take the ferry back to SF from Sausalito. People who live in Marin should meet us at the Larkspur Ferry when the ferry gets in.

The first part of the hike will be a range of terrain and scenery: flat, stairs, fire roads, streets, bike paths, sidewalks. A real mix! The second part will be the old railroad trail from Mill Valley to Sausalito, with some bird watching opportunities and then past the houseboat communities and into downtown Sausalito.

If we have time we might stop at some of the houseboat communities. Happy hour to follow in Sausalito. Marin people should think about how to get back to Larkspur or wherever they need to go. You may want to consider carpooling.

The start time is tentative because the ferry schedule for mid June has not been published yet. Check back as it gets closer for the exact times. Also it is cheaper to use a Clipper card with cash on it for the ferry then buying a traditional ferry ticket, so load up your Clipper card.

This hike is somewhat ambitious and will be around 9 or 10 miles with a pace fast enough to make sure we can fit in Happy Hour in Sausalito. I am hoping to arrive at Happy Hour between 5:30 and 6. We will likely catch the last ferry back which is at 6:45 p.m. There is also a ferry at 5:35 which we may or may not be in time for.

We will be taking a lunch break so bring some food if you will be hungry as we will not stop to buy food before we start hiking. Hope to see you there!

So sorry everyone, but I had to change the date and time to Sunday, June 2nd at 12:30 p.m.
