For one spectacular day Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts (http://sbnmass.org/) transformed the Greenway and the City of Boston into the nation's largest local & sustainable food hub! With 120 diverse vendors from across New England and an turnout of 40,000 people, this year’s festival was a great success and the feedback from festival-goers and the media alike has been incredible!
The local food growers, producers, distributors, educators, and supporters are the heart and soul of Boston Local Food Festival and of the broader local food movement that is transforming our regional and national food system one meal at a time-- thank you. With the help of our wonderful Zero Waste Champion volunteers, we are proud to announce that 91% of all waste from the 2012 festival was diverted to confirming the festival a zero waste event.
