The Urban Sustainability NYC Meetup group will be "meeting up" at the Queens Museum on Sunday, January 25th to visit the exhibit and events curated by Paula Segal and 596 Acres (http://596acres.org/). We will be meeting at 11:45 inside the museum entrance and begin from 12pm – 1pm, with a tour of the urban renewal projects in Manhattan on the Panorama with Samuel Zipp, author of Manhattan Projects: the Rise and Fall of Urban Renewal in Cold War New York. From 1pm – 2:30pm, in the 2nd floor theater we will be viewing: "Reviewing Renewal: Before Lincoln Center" Organized by Oksana Mironova. Finally from 2:30pm – 4pm, in the Unisphere Gallery, 2nd floor we'll be focusing on "Reviewing Renewal: Williamsburg’s South Side" With Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Diana Reyna, Shekar Krishnan, Anusha Venkataraman and The Broadway Triangle Community Coalition. FYI the Queens Museum is free.
Sunday should be an action-packed urbanist day. At 4:00 PM many of us will depart to Flushing for some excellent soup dumplings at a favorite place of NYC Meetup co-organizer Nick Hamilton. Please review exhibit and events details here:
