Urban Tech SF Meetup #1

First, there will be a 20 minute lightning talk about why we need to tip the current grocery store model back toward local, organic foods. Next, we'll do a quick fishbowl conversation to reflect on the talk and continue the conversation. Then, we'll get right into a facilitated group design activity where we will discuss the transportation issues and challenges facing San Francisco's Market St.

Come check out ThoughtWorks San Francisco's office and join us for an evening of creativity and learning! Tasty food and ebullient beverages provided.

Great presentation and wonderful group of people committed to the future of a great city! Regarding Foraging in SF, check out Forage SF http://foragesf.com/about/ Their business makes it impossible for people who don't want to spend $80 on a meal of foraged food, but they certainly profit from foraging techniques in the city. Their next event is Friday: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/6253100191

Also, if anyone is interested in a rooftop garden tour at Glide Memorial (Tenderloin) and heading to Tenderloin National Forest after to learn what it takes to realize successful urban gardens, the history of community projects, sustainable methods for gardening success, the challenges, local food security, and much more, come to the Bioregional Meetup's next event: http://www.meetup.com/Bioregional-Meetup/events/114656412/ Hope to see some of you amazing people there!

Hope we can talk; suggest to address the opportunity to improve from both sides; Production, and Distribution.
