Meetup Change: JPL HIke is now Lower Arroyo Hike (Hiking/Photography/UE Level 1)

Announcing a new Meetup for Urban Adventures!

What: Lower Arroyo Hike (Hiking/Photography/UE Level 1)

When: Saturday, November 13,[masked]:30 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Since the JPL hike trails are closed this is changing from an upper Arroyo hike to a lower Arroyo hike.

This hike will be a mixture of outdoors and urban landscape.

The Arroyo Seco is on the western edge of the City of Pasadena and extends 8 miles through the City. It is the City?s largest natural open space and physically described as a deeply cut canyon linking the San Gabriel Mountains to the Los Angeles River containing the intermittent stream for which it is named. The Arroyo Seco meanders south through the canyon and past various cities, joins the Los Angeles River, and continues on to the Pacific Ocean.

We will also cross the Colorado Street bridge, which while being beautiful, also has the sad distinction of being known as and "Suicide Bridge" and has a history of being haunted.

We will begin to meet at 10:30 and on the trail by 11:00AM

While the link above has the hike listed at 10 miles RT, we may not do the entire distance.

Some other locations of interest that we may visit along the way are:

The Vista Del Arroyo Hotel, now the 9th District Court of Appeals

The Gamble House

Norton Simon Museum

Meet up location and detaisl will be sent to YES RSVP's prior to event date.

Bring plenty of water, comfortable hiking shoes, and your camera.

Please update your RSVP's if the cahgnes affect your plans.

Rain cancels.
