A great idea for a meetup. Thanks for organizing that, Kip. Not everyone participated, but there were several very impressive stabs at implementation. I was surprised that so many web devs present had never tried their hand at the Game of Life. It's a pretty standard exercise for those interested in computer science.

So this is gonna be my first time attending. Any special directions about where to go on the campus?

I think there will be signs directing you to the room.

I am trying to make it tonight. I have other plans that might fall through ... my fingers are crossed!

Bring your laptops tonight. We'll code together or in groups.

How should we implement the game of life. Vanilla JS, Angular, Backbone? Thoughts? Opinions?

Hehe...yeah... I've done more thorough implementations of Life with Angular, just as an experiment, and data-binding performance is not good enough for a grid of any real size. But Angular lets you whip out the surrounding UI quickly and easily, leaving you free to concentrate on how you're gonna kill and resurrect cells at peak performance.

      +1 for Angular!

I'm not 100% sure I can make it to this one.

Hey Neal! If not hope to see you soon!
