Inward Meditation Center Utrecht offers:

• Weekly meditation sessions, usually on Tuesdays. We have regular group meditation sessions focused on meditation in “the buddhist tradition”, without the traditional bowing to statues or chanting. Just sitting, for the most part.

• Meditation Courses (http://inward.nl/learn-meditation-with-inwards-introduction-into-meditation-course/), where you can learn the basics of mindfulness meditation.

The meditation sessions are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditators. Emphasis will be on the development of mindfulness and wisdom, as well as lovingkindness. Chairs and meditation cushions are available. Guidance in these methods is provided, both in English and in Dutch, if required.

There's tea afterwards, and a chance to exchange views and experiences. If you want to remain silent, that's fine, too.

This group can be a starting point for practicing, discussing or experiencing the dhamma/dharma together and may serve to support your personal practice.

Inward meditatiecentrum verzorgt:

• Wekelijkse meditatiesessies, gewoonlijk op dinsdag. Een meditatiegroep die regelmatig bij elkaar komt om te mediteren zonder de bijkomende factoren die in de verscheidene boeddhistische Aziatische tradities aanwezig zijn. Dus geen verplichte buigingen of gechant, maar wel veel zitten.

• Meditatiecursussen in het Nederlands (http://inward.nl/meditatiecentrum-utrecht/meditatiecursussen/) waar je de basisoefeningen van mindfulness meditatie kunt leren.

De wekelijkse meditatiesessies zijn geschikt voor beginners en mensen die al langer mediteren. Iedere vorm van meditatie is welkom. In de begeleiding zal de nadruk liggen op het ontwikkelen van mindfulness en wijsheid en liefdevolle vriendelijkheid. Wanneer iedereen Nederlands begrijpt zal de begeleiding in het Nederlands plaatsvinden, en als iedereen Engels verstaat dan doen we het in het Engels.

Naderhand is er thee en de gelegenheid om iets te delen over je meditatie-ervaringen. Als je stil wilt zijn of direct wilt vertrekken dan mag dat natuurlijk ook. Meditatiekussens en stoelen zijn beschikbaar. De groep kan een springplank vormen voor het samen beoefenen en bediscussiëren van de dharma/dhamma in welke intensiteit dan ook. Ter ondersteuning van je eigen (dagelijkse) praktijk of gewoon als vast punt in je week.

To join the Tuesday night meditations, RSVP through the Inward website, through Meetup, or by messaging Merijn directly. We meet at our usual venue, Werf5, which is located on the Oudegracht aan de Werf 5. We start at 8 PM. These meditations are donated in the spirit of dana. The suggested donation is 10 euro, but lack of funds should never be a reason to miss a meditation session - simply donate whatever you feel suits your budget. • Doors open from 19:45.
