This is the Valparaiso, IN, chapter of the Pittsburgh BYOB Meetup. The concept is simple: Every month, we set a theme, and then everyone goes out and selects and reads a book related in some way to that theme, then we meet and eat and present our selection (no spoilers!) to the group. BYOB = Bring Your Own Book! To start, at least, I will just "borrow" the monthly themes from the Mothership (they've been doing this for a long time and are very good at choosing themes with lots of wiggle room). Who should join: People who love to read and discuss what they've read, but do not necessarily want to read what someone else has selected to be in a book club. People who want to find new books to read, recommended (or not) by others in the group. People who like to eat out and talk about books. One nice thing about this group is that your selected book can be fiction, non-fiction, a graphic novel, poetry, a book of short stories . . . anything related (obviously or creatively) to the theme of the month.
New for 2019:
To control costs, I have opted to limited membership to 50 people. This means that every so often, I will have to delete members who have not been active for a while. Of course, anyone who wants to participate can aways rejoin!
