Weekly Virtual Challenge – Open to All Levels from Beginners to Advanced
This series of weekly challenge will start every Thursdays beginning June 20 and hopefully we have enough topics to continue for at least one year. Topics will range from easy to difficult, from ordinary to hard, from boring to challenging. If you have topics for next weekly challenges, please feel free to suggest in the meetup discussion. Are you ready for the first challenge ?
“Each meetup will feature different concepts and themes to help take your technique from automatic-only to Free-Capture Photography.” To learn and practise the techniques of photography, feel free to learn from other members' photos, combine with or create your own styles.
Beginner members have learn in recent meetup on “focus”, others you have taken and submitted photographs without cropping, and most importantly as members Donna and Doug respectively said, “many different ideas shared” and “seeing other people's interpretations.” Now you are ready for your next assignment.
WEEK ONE CHALLENGE TOPIC – FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
1 Your SUBJECTS are FRUITS AND VEGETABLES – Fresh or Cooked
2 Locations : In-store, at restaurant, at home, or your studio
3 Post-processing allowed are cropping, alignment and colour adjustments,
4 NOT Allowed is again "fancy" manipulation
Here are few pointers for guidelines :
1 while in-store - which include how they are arranged or randomly placed on shelf,
2 at restaurant/home - while being served (like a salad) or being cooked (like a hotpot) or already cooked
3 at home - in your indoor/outdoor garden, on your counter/chopper, or arranged in your fruit/veggie basket
4 in your studio - you could setup a studio shot for those experienced or willing to try
Your photo could be a grand view or a close-up. You want to present them "fresh".
Once you have RSVP, you could upload your photos from Thursday until the start of next challenge. You could submit one or multiple entries, more is always better for you.
Please post Constructive Critics or Appraising of others' photos. To encourage you to raise your own photographic skills higher, you will receive “likes” from other members for a well composition.
Entry with the most “likes” will become the album cover photograph.
If you did not receive a “like”, please don't be disappointed nor discouraged because you have to raise your skills and continue to learn – this is what this meetup is all about. “Each meetup will feature different concepts and themes to help take your technique from automatic-only to Free-Capture photography.” To learn and to practise the techniques of photography, feel free to learn from other members' photos, combine with or create your own styles.
