Local FX artist and instructor, Johnson Chuang, will demo how to construct an exciting destruction shot in Houdini. After an overview of the basic destruction workflow, you will get to build a procedural asset and use Houdini's dynamics tools to destroy it.
This workshop is intended for those new to Houdini, or wanting to explore creating effects in Houdini. Part of the workshop will be going over the interface and navigation of the software.
Johnson started his VFX career as a matchmove artist at Image Engine, then going on to Method Studios and Digital Domain as an FX artist. He is credited in movies such as Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Avengers: Infinity War, and The Maze Runner. He is a Houdini instructor at Capilano University's visual effects program.
