What is GIS (geographic information system) and how can you use it in your everyday life?

Create local examples using Leaflet.js during a hands-on activity, and take a tour of Mapbox.com, a hosted service that provides a suite of functionality for mobile and web mapping applications.

This workshop will give an introduction to web maps, illustrate the differences between digital maps and web maps, and explain how they work.

This program takes place in the new BMO Community Program Room (Room 916) on Level 9.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop with atom.io installed, though some laptops will be provided.
