Virtual Reality night at VHS

We're having another VR Night at Vancouver Hackspace.

Check out a video of the last one here:

Lots of great virtual reality gear, software, and great ideas.

I got to learn a bit more about what keeps VHS alive at the last QGM, and found we can help them out with either monthly membership or by throwing in a $10 bill into the donation bucket.   It's a great space, glad to contribute to keep it alive. Everything goes towards making the space more awesome.

Later we head to the amazing Craft Beer Market for eats, drinks, and socializing. It's in the Salt Building, 85 West 1st Ave.

See you at VHS!

    Wow, that was great event!

Thanks to all who were showing your VR demos.
Aaron thanks for the help setting up my Oculus.
The Stress demo was great... yet stressful.

I look forward to the next meetup :)

Nice and chill meetup this time. We talked a bit about the plans going forward. I think it would be great to have some VR gear for people to purchase at the meetup, and an SDK that rockets everyone into playing with VR. Just to help people get rolling without so much re-invention overhead. I'm going to focus on Razor Hydra and Oculus Rift for VR interaction, and Unity Pro for the IDE. That combo seems really good, works across Mac and PC, and I've already got something fairly easy to drop-in. If others could chip in on say other SDKs and other hardware combinations, that would be awesome too.

Well, I'm sorry I won't be there this time to show what I've been working on, but I have something else to contribute. I was a guest on the RevVR podcast on RoadToVR.com and I put mentioned this meet-up. It should be online on thursday. Check it out!
