Description:
We’ll do a brief overview of different techniques available to scale an application and how we applied them for our scheduling application. We will discuss an unusual customer use case we had and why these techniques could not handle high levels of traffic for short periods of time. We’ll describe a cost-effective solution we implemented using AWS standard and FIFO queues and the newly released WebSockets API in Amazon API Gateway, as well as Amazon SQS and AWS Lambda.
