What we're about

code of conduct: https://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Event-Driv ...

Home of the former Vancouver DDD/CQRS/ES Microservices group, we've joined forces with the Seattle, Boston, London (UK) Event Driven Meetup groups.

This is a meetup for anyone interested in learning about and sharing experiences and expertise around the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of event oriented architectures for distributed systems. In particular using Event Modeling notation to explore Event Sourcing, cloud strategies such as Serverless, Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Microservices as well as other event oriented approaches including traditional RDBMS-based architectures. The meetups aim to bring the technical in with the non-technical.

Whether you're a developer, architect, designer, product owner or C-level executive join us to gain hands-on experience designing and building modern information systems. We'll guide you through the principles used to build event sourced microservices and other modern software delivery techniques.

Please join the slack group at the top of this page to get more details about the subjects presented: https://eventmodeling.org/resources/

Event Modeling a Time Tracking System

Online event

This on-going series will keep building a time tracking system while using Event Modeling to plan and design the solution. Implementation will be in a number of different technologies, integrated by the clean interfaces provided with the event sourcing approach. Keeping ahead of the competition while mitigating risk associated with change is not easy. This meetup is specifically tailored to those having to make difficult decisions around allocating budgets to technology road maps. Help and be helped in an environment that's geared to the exchange of relevant ideas and experiences that will benefit you and your organization. The format is a round table that will facilitate peer to peer support in and around: - bringing in and integrating new products/services - legacy evolution/leverage/migration - relevant risk factors such as security/privacy - other items identified Adam will be the only one facilitating the discussion and no vendor pitches are permitted at this event. He has facilitated transitions such as these at multiple organizations from startup to enterprise: - migration to Agile and surrounding practices - migration to a "post-Agile" environment - transition to devops practices - transition to modern Source Code Management and related tooling and practices - transition to microservices - transition to outsourcing * The fee is to keep people that hit that RSVP button too readily. If you really don't want to pay, you will be refunded.
