This group is for anyone interested in landscape photography. We will go on outings in the Vancouver area to where we can find interesting vantage spots to take photographs. People of all levels of experience and knowledge are welcome. Sometimes hiking will be required to get us it the best spot; sometimes not.
In my pursuit for photos, I have slept on snowy, windy cliffs, helicoptered into remote locations, slept in a canoe, been woken up in my tent by bears and otters, and risked my life many times. It has been fun and challenging, exhausting and rewarding, it has filled me with awe of the beauty we live in, and it has given me a lifetime of memories. Lately, I've been wondering what I'm going to do next? That's why I started Vancouver Landscape Photography Meetup.
The initial focus of this group will be on Landscapes. But in the future that can expand to include a variety of styles of photography including macro, cityscape, street, night and stars, birds and wildlife, black and white film and darkroom (I have a darkroom), portrait, product and studio photography. The beauty of having photography as a hobby is that we can take it wherever we want it to go. I have extensive knowledge and experience in all of these styles (in some more than others) and am happy to work/play around with them when the mood strikes. Let’s see how it goes.
Please feel free to join this group. I’m happy to share what I have learned over the years and I’m open to suggestions as to where we should go. The idea here is to have fun, enjoy the outdoors, learn about photography, meet new people, and take amazing photographs. Looking forward to it!
