Paddling Time One Way: Fast: 50 min. Avg: 1 hr. 15 min. Leisurely: 1hr 40 min.
Suggested Route: Paddle the same route as to Raccoon Island, once at Raccoon diagonal north-east across to Twin Island. Return via Jug Island.
Hazards: Afternoon warming on a sunny day creates strong headwinds for your return trip.
Lots of motor traffic on busy weekends.
Important Note: South Island is day use only.
Features: A popular destination. As the name denotes there is one small island and one tiny islet. They are located 75 meters from Indian Arm's east shore. There is a dock on the bigger island which attracts motor boaters. The North island has several campsites and outhouse facilities. There is no running water on these islands.
Nature: The sheltered water between the two islands is a great location for viewing underwater marine life, such as crabs, starfish and schools of small fish.

SUP and Kayake experienced recommended. Please bring a dry bag for extra clothes and food.
The SUP all day rate is $60. please reserver early. Kayakers are welcome to join.

PoliciesTo ensure your safety, we enforce the following policies: There is a two hour minimum on all rentals.Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your reservation time to complete payment, waivers and prepare to paddle.Our hours of operation are subject to change without notice due to inclement weather or other safety hazards that may arise.All paddlers must sign a waiver (http://www.deepcovekayak.com/assets/downloads/2013-Rental-Waiver.pdf) and provide a drivers license and credit card as a deposit.Paddlers under the age of 19 must have a waiver (http://www.deepcovekayak.com/assets/downloads/2013-Rental-Parental-Consent.pdf) signed by a parent or legal guardian.Solo paddlers must be able to properly explain a solo paddle float rescue.Maximum three people per canoe. If you are paddling overnight in the canoes there is a maximum of two people per canoe.Maximum one person per seat in kayaks.An adult must accompany a person under the age of 16 on the water and have capsize recovery experience.Life jackets must be worn at all times while on the water.Allow plenty of time for parking particularly during the busy summer months.Solo canoeing is prohibited.Rentals Reservation Cancellation Policy:
48 hours notice is required to cancel a reservation. There is a $15 cancellation penalty per boat per day for less than 48 hours notice. This policy is flexible if we are not completely booked. However, if we are turning away customer's to hold boats that you decide to cancel within the 48 hour period, you will be charged the cancellation fee. Your rental period begins from the start time of your reservation.
Parking is limited, so it is highly recommended to carpool and take public transportation.
Weather appropriate, comfortable clothing. Wetsuits are optional. Bring water shoes or neoprene booties if you have them but not required.
