PhoneGap and Windows Phone

Jesse MacFadyen, a core developer for PhoneGap, will be doing a presentation on PhoneGap for Windows Phone. He will give an overview, talk about the differences between other platforms, and cover the steps you need to create your first Windows Phone PhoneGap application.

We will also have a discussion on PhoneGap being submitted to the Apache Software Foundation and what this means for the PhoneGap project.

Free beer and lots of PhoneGap swag will be available at this event. Make sure to RSVP as seats are limited!

Note: The main entrance is on 23 West Pender, near the Chinatown Millenium Gate. Please buzz #1800 at the parking lot gate and then buzz #1800 again at the building entrance. We're in Suite 180.

Speaker was articulate, well to adjust to the skill level of the participants in the audience. Would like to see Jesse to do more speaking, perhaps at a larger code-camp, developer event. Liked how Jesse did the demos, and that: "not all demos can highlight all OF the features of your technology"--important to have relevant and interesting ones though... Handled the audience questions well, especially the ones about PhoneGap's future with Adobe... it's a new world...we're just learning about PhoneGap too.

Enjoyed the demo of how to set up PhoneGap for Win7 Phone. Made it seem dead easy. Good questions from the group.

SUGGESTION: PhoneGape (add the E) - Verb:
Stare with one's mouth open wide, typically in amazement or wonder.

A great presentation on PhoneGap, which despite its focus on WP7, was quite platform agnostic.

I enjoyed the meetup. The talk was useful and on topic. There were also lots of good questions that led to some informative answers. It was also nice to get to meet a few people - though there were many more that I didn't get a chance to talk to - next time I guess.

There's good potential here. Always money in the banana stand.

Interesting demo. Great to meet some of the people behind PhoneGap.

It was what I expected. I was there more to learn about basic Phone Gap functionality rather than explicit Windows Phone and Phone Gap.
