Whether one subscribes to the concept of New Year’s resolutions (and specifically, New Year’s resolutions about one’s writing) or not, there’s no denying that some of a writer’s best creative productivity can result from goal-setting.
Whether it’s a goal to write more often, to change one’s writing methods, to try writing in a new genre, or what have you, the start of a new year provides a convenient starting point for making changes in one’s writing life.
A new year also offers the opportunity to look back and acknowledge the creative progress you made during the previous year. For recognizing how far you’ve already come is an essential part of going even further.
The discussion kick-starter questions for this meetup is thus as follows:
1) What were your writing-related achievements of 2013?
2) What are your writing-related goals for 2014?
AND, because a goal without a plan for actually reaching that goal is just a wish:
3) What are your plans for tackling your 2014 writing goals?
Don’t have a plan yet? Maybe we can help!
Other topics will also be discussed as they arise, in a relaxed, friendly manner.
New members welcome! The reservation is in my name. Look for the "Vancouver Writers' Social Group" sign on the table.
NOTE: If you end up on the waitlist, please don't just show up unless you are notified of an opening and added to the guest list.
