PROGRAM 11 – Vancity Shorts (http://www.vaff.org/festinfo/vaff-16-day-4-program-11) DAY 4 - Sunday November 4, 2012 | 1:30 PM This year’s Canadian Shorts Program features a mix of films from filmmakers who all present strong statements about the shape of things in our society. FORTUNE COOKIE MAGIC TRICKS is a comedy about an Asian father who tries to find common ground with his homosexual son. WINDOW TRAFFICK takes us into the lives of two women fighting for survival in Vancouver’s sex slave industry. In REACH, a downtrodden man nearing the end of a once adventurous life suffers a stroke, and realizes the importance of survival. And TAM, having spent most of his youth a captive after the Vietnam war, struggles for freedom and for a life for his family in Canada.
