The Humanists of Greater Portland is offering a free 6-week class/discussion group on the topic of logical fallacies, starting Jan. 13th, 2013. This Vancouver discussion group is not a co-sponsor, but it is listed here as it may be of interest to people of all belief systems (theist, atheist, etc.). The atmosphere is intended to be neutral, so all will feel welcomed.
For all details for session 1 of 6, and to rsvp, go to their meetup
website here (rsvp's not enabled on our meetup page):
They also have a discussion board here, if you want to discuss the topic:
It is located near downtown Portland, but since this is Sunday, traffic will be light, so feel free to come from the outer reaches of Portland/Vancouver.
Note: Later this same day, Jan. 13, 2013, 6 pm, we are having our Beaverton Christian/atheist debate in Beaverton. Click here for details:
"What are the strengths & weaknesses of your belief system?"
I know this isn't in Vancouver, but again, traffic will be light on Sunday so you can come from Vancouver easily enough.
Attend both if you'd like to get extra credit!
FYI: Here's an internet article explaining the fallacies class:
