Updates (new video posted, upcoming Christian/atheist debate, upcoming logic class)

This message board is read-only.

Hi to those in the Vancouver Science & Religion Discussion Group,

Some news:

(By the way, these events are on Sunday, so traffic is usually light and it is easy to get to these places from farther away, such as Vancouver.)

1. The last Beaverton debate was called "What are the strengths & weaknesses of your belief system?" and the video is now posted online here: .
Pastor Nathan represented a Christian viewpoint, and Bernie Dehler (a humanist minister) an atheistic viewpoint.  Charlie Meeker, a member of Pastor Nathan's church, moderated the event (and he did a pretty good job, if you ask me).

2. The next debate (in Beaverton) is on Sun. 2-3-13, on the topic of "Natural Theology."  Pastor Nathan and Bernie will give their critique of a recent Christian book on the topic, and there will be over 1 hour of audience Q&A.  Click here for more details and to rsvp:

3. Bernie is teaching a 6-part class on "logical fallacies" on Sundays.  This Sunday session is class 2 of 6.  People of all faiths, or none, are welcome.  Click here to see more details and to rsvp: .

At the last event, a few people thanked me for organizing it, and I like to remind them (and thank them) for attending too, because without interested people showing-up to these, I wouldn't bother.  So thanks to all of those who participate as part of the audience.
