What we're about
Hello everyone and thank you for being part of this great tennis League.
We have planned a number of events for this season which will be of more fun and we'll keep your tennis in shape! This year the season will kick off on April 30th, and we'll resume on October 15th 2016.
The modality will continue just like last year, we will meet up on Wednesdays from 4:30pm until 6:30pm and every Saturday morning from 8am until 10:45am mainly at the Queen Elizabeth courts... the location may change from time to time so we can explore different tennis facilities, you will be notified in advance when those changes happen; just like last year, we will have one rotation every 30-35 minutes which will allow you to partner and play against players of your tennis level. There will be a limited amount of spots for every sesion which will be 20 and 40 spots for demo racket/BBQ Saturdays. I will be present on location every Saturday Meetup and on most Wednesdays making sure what our Club runs as smooth as possible. Just like the previous years, you will have to reserve your spot every time you want to join us and in case you cannot make it, please remove yourself from the RSVP so somebody else can take your spot. For every Saturday Meet up, the tennis balls will be supplied. We will cancel any Meetup in the event of rain.
The maximum number of ACTIVE members for this season will be 150. The club currently has approximately a balanced number of men and women in total. We have a Code of Conduct which will have to be acknowledged upon registration. The Code will be in effect for the 2016 season... see enclosed file with our current code of conduct. Different from other clubs, I will be assisting all of you on your tennis skills and suggesting strokes and moves to improve the quality of your tennis.
The events per week will be displayed on a weekly or bi-weekly basis here on our page. Among the multiple events that are scheduled for this season, we have:
Ralleys, tournaments, drills, lessons, special events* and socials:
- BBQs every 5 to 6 weeks
- 2 video sessions Where you will be video taped and improve your skills by watching your own game
- 2 photo shoot sessions ( professionally taken pictures of your best shots )
- Night tennis sessions
- Themed meetups
- A mixer against other tennis club (home and away)
- Organized outings (brunch, drinks, etc)
- A possible 24hr fundraising marathon
- A group trip to the Vancouver Open in West Vancouver
Membership requirements: Minimum age: 18
Tennis rating: open to all levels
The membership fee for the 2016 season (Apr 30th-Oct 15th 2016) is $70. For some events additional fees will apply. Drop-Ins on Wednesday & Saturday will be available in case you are not a regular member. Drop-in fee is $5. You are allowed to drop in 3 times per season.
