1 Million Cups isn't all about high tech startups! Matthew 25 is a social entrepreneurial non-profit and is pitching in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday February 26th at 9am at Vault Coworking.
Matthew 25 is unique in the way they leverage resources across traditional boundaries of faith, business, government, education and more; continuing to push towards sustainability and impact in our local area.
Matthew 25's Mission is to Unite, Empower, and Change Lives! M25 envisions a thriving, connected community where people are valued and talents are multiplied. Our areas of focus are: Neighborhood Building, Cultivate Hope and Youth Empowerment. M25 is impacting the local community to revitalize core neighborhoods of Cedar Rapids impacted by the flood in a green, sustainable way; working to shift the food culture in targeted neighborhoods; creating access to shared resources and empowering youth and young adults through the arts.
With their presentation at 1MC, founders Clint Twedt-Ball and Courtney Ball are looking to gain relationships with people that want to make a positive difference in their community. Insights from people that are problem solvers and global thinkers who aren't deterred by challenging issues.
About 1 Million Cups:
1 Million Cups was first developed at the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City in April of 2012 as a simple way to engage entrepreneurs in the community. The Iowa City/Cedar Rapids edition was launched in March 2013 and was the 6th community in the country to do so. Today, the program is in 21 cities across the country-giving entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their companies and get feedback. The format of the program gives each entrepreneur 6 minutes to pitch their company, followed by 20 minutes of q&a and feedback.
The program rotates each week between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
