A powerful film examining hunger in America, “A Place at the Table,” is scheduled for showing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Mesa County Libraries Central Library, Fifth Street and Grand Avenue in Grand Junction.

Fifty million people in the United States — one in four children — don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Using Mesa County as one of several examples, the film examines the issue of hunger in America and shows hunger’s serious economic, social, and cultural implications for the nation. A panel discussion will follow the movie. The film is rated PG and is open to the public. There is no charge for admission, but please drop off non-perishable canned food items at the Central Library from Nov. 17-23 for donation to the Community Food Bank.

The film’s presentation is sponsored by Mesa County Libraries, Rocky Mountain PBS, Chevron, KAFM 88.1, and Talon Wine Brands.
