Join us for a potluck picnic at Lakeview Park in Middleton. There's a playground, lots of open space, and a fun splash pad area...
In addition to some food, feel free to bring along a football, frisbee, croquet set, radio, or other picnic-friendly item. You might also want to bring a picnic blanket and chairs.
Food: When you RSVP, please note either the specific food you will bring or a general description (main dish, salad, drinks, dessert, etc.). Even if you are not vegan, please make sure the food you bring is. That way everyone can eat everything. And please bring a card with the recipe / ingredients. It's ok to bring something simple. This isn't a competition.
Vegan Recipes: Some good sites that include vegan recipes are Andrea's Easy Vegan Cooking (http://cookeasyvegan.blogspot.com/p/recipes.html), VegCooking.com (http://www.vegcooking.com/searchrecipes.asp), Vegetarian Times (http://www.vegetariantimes.com/recipes/), VegWeb.com (http://vegweb.com/), and Low Budget Vegetarian (http://www.lbveg.com/Recipes.php). (Let me know (http://www.meetup.com/VegMadison/message/?recipientId=2053494) if there are other great sites for vegan recipes. Thanks.)
Utensils: Please bring along anything that's required for serving your dish (soup ladle, spatula, etc.). I will provide plates, cups, forks, knives, spoons, and napkins.
Kids: Kids are welcome to attend.
Why can't I RSVP as a maybe? Meetup.com removed the option for organizers to allow maybe RSVPs. If you would like to attend this event but cannot commit to going at this time, please RSVP yes and include a note in your RSVP that you are really a maybe.
What if it rains? We will meet rain or shine. (We've got a backup location on the east side of Madison in case the weather isn't great.) If there's any question about the weather the morning of the event, I will email the plan to everyone who RSVPed.
