Please join the Vegetarian Society of DC Book Club discussion of Frans de Waal's "Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?"
New York Times: “walks us through research revealing what a wide range of animal species are actually capable of....it all deals a pretty fierce wallop to our sense of specialness.”
To participate you must read at least half the book -- and RSVP at least two days before the meeting.
This meeting takes place at the Takoma Park location of Soupergirl (https://thesoupergirl.com/whats-cooking/), a vegan soup and salad restaurant. The restaurant usually closes at 8pm but will let us stay until 9pm for our discussion. Please place food orders by 8pm. Soupergirl is across the street from the Takoma metro stop and street parking is available (meter payment may be required, check signs carefully).
The VSDC Book Club usually meets in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia. We read fiction and nonfiction in alternating months, about any topic. For more information (including everything we have read over 26 years!) visit http://www.vsdc.org/book.html or contact Beth (http://www.meetup.com/vegan-28/message/?recipientId=1642817) through meet up.
Don't be a no show! If your plans change, update your RSVP.
