The Humane Society of the United States holds lobby days each year. New York's lobby day is Wednesday April 17th. Lobby day gives us a chance to speak with our elected officials and their staff. The humane society will brief us beforehand. At first, I was nervous about doing this because I wasn't sure if I was knowledgeable enough to speak up. However, I realized that as long as I speak from the heart I can make a difference. In fact, just showing up to our state's capital on behalf of animals can speak volumes. We are showing our elected officials what matters to us. These are the people that we vote for (or not) and these are the people that should be representing us. I want my voice heard so I am attending this Lobby Day. There is a bus leaving from NYC on that day (if you don't want to drive there yourself) but you need to register and pay for that separately. Here is the link if anybody else wants to join.
Hope to see some of you there. :)
P.S. You MUST rsvp with the Humane Society to attend.
P.P.S. The bus leaves from NYC at 7:45 am
