*This is a group for women only*

“Being vegan is easy. Are there social pressures that encourage you to continue to eat, wear, and use animal products? Of course there are. But in a patriarchal, racist, homophobic, and ableist society, there are social pressures to participate and engage in sexism, racism, homophobia, and ableism. At some point, you have to decide who you are and what matters morally to you. And once you decide that you regard victimizing vulnerable nonhumans is not morally acceptable, it is easy to go and stay vegan”

― Gary L. Francione

I wholly agree with the above quote. But there is one aspect of being vegan that I find to be intensely difficult. The hardest part of being vegan, in my opinion, is living in a non-vegan world. A world that questions and challenges you at every turn. I usually welcome these debates and even see the opportunity in the snide and contemptuous remarks. But I think we can all admit how exhausting these conversations can be! I often yearn to hang out with a group of people that won't challenge my dietary choices or dismiss animal suffering as an invalid reason for my choices. I want to selfishly host potlucks where ALL the delicious food provided is food I can eat! I want to just be able to breathe and relax with a great group of girls without feeling the need to educate or defend. There is a place for these things. I love talking to people about the ethical, environmental, and health reasons for adopting a plant-based diet. It is one of my great joys! But sometimes we all need a place of peace and community with other like-minded, compassionate people. That is what I want to provide for the vegan ladies living in the valley! My plans for this group include monthly potlucks at my house, dinners out, Farm Sanctuary trips, activist events, couples outings, and anything else we can think of as a group. You are absolutely welcome to join the group if you are a vegan woman OR a woman interested and open to exploring the plant-based lifestyle. As far as the latter is concerned, as long as you are respectful and come with an open heart and mind- we absolutely want you here.
I look forward to meeting all you vixens and hope this can be a welcoming and enjoyable place for you.
It's people like you and me that are making an impact and changing the world for animals. <3
A little about me:
I am 29, I live in Chatsworth with my soon to be husband (also vegan), I work as a vascular ultrasound tech in Tarzana, I have two four-legged furry kids (Winston & Steve), I have a particular fondess for pigs, I love reading, yoga, red wine, and I am an absolute foodie! :)

Be prepared to be loved and on and jumped all over by my two pups, Winston and Steve when you walk through my door!
