Please share what kind of information or experience led you to first consider changing your diet?

I'd always avoided "knowing" the truth behind my meat, but had become increasingly aware of the humane aspect. Two years ago, I happened upon a book at a relative's house (who is not vegan) called The Pig Who Sang to the Moon. I avoided it initially knowing I would no longer be able to be able to be comfortably ignorant. I then decided it was the least I could do to educate myself, read the book, and became vegan immediately.

Vegan Carolina is predominantly an outreach-based group. Which cities/regions of North Carolina are you interested in helping with leafleting/outreach?

Triangle area mostly, but willing to travel as able.

What types of outreach do you prefer to engage in?

Leafleting, vegan cooking, discussing the issues one-on-one. I always make it a point to mention that I'm vegan which tends to open up discussion among friends and acquaintances.

Hi, I'm Andrea. I've been vegan for just over two years now and it's the most important, life changing decision I've ever made. I'd love to help bring awareness to others!
