This is LA's Longest Running Single Day Vegan Tradition
THE ANNUAL VEGAN THANKSGIVING DAY POTLUCK PICNIC
Once upon a time, we had up to about five hundred in attendance at this event - vegans came from far and wide as there were not many of us and we all tried to be in one place.
Twenty years ago, for instance, Los Angeles had only two totally vegan restaurants but now there are seventy-two.
It seems that wherever you turn in LA you can easily find more and more vegans. The world IS going vegan - maybe not as quickly as some of us would like it - but we have come a long way - and we are on our way!
Over the last few years, more vegan Thanksgiving traditions have begun - that is great - the more the merrier - there should be vegan Thanksgiving events everywhere - all Thanksgiving events should be vegan - last year there were at least half a dozen vegan Thanksgiving options in LA, and the choices are growing - and thus the attendance at this event has dwindled to under a couple hundred.
This, though, is the longest running once-a-year vegan tradition in Los Angeles started over twenty years ago at Westwood Park, then shifted for the last twenty years to Rancho Park, and is shifting to an even better location this year - in the San Fernando Valley - RSVP here and stay tuned for more details coming soon about the new venue.
If you choose to attend one of the other events, then we wish you well - we do especially encourage you to attend your family Thanksgiving events and help them go vegan - every Thanksgiving event truly should be vegan - but if you choose to attend with us, then we will look forward to seeing you soon and celebrating a truly conscious Thanks Giving together.
This is a particularly family friendly event - run as the event has been run for the last couple of decades by the Veg Kids organization.
Celebrate with us where all can be thankful -
including the animals we are not eating!
