What is your favorite vegan dish?

Love pasta way too much. Mediterranean, Chinese and Thai are also among our favorites. I also love Indian food, but have to be careful that it's not too hot.

What is your favorite restaurant?

Follow your Heart, Vegan Joint, Garden Wok, California Pita & Sharkeys are among a few.

Do you have a special dish that you like to cook?

An extended family favorite is tabouli. It is often requested at family get-togethers.

How long have you been vegan and why?

I am not a vegan. I've been a vegetarian since around 1976. While in high school I loved animals and didn't eat meat much. I took a cooking class, and one day one of the boys made the dead, headless, featherless chicken dance. It was at that moment that I said to myself "This is wrong!!!" And the rest is history.

My name is Adele. I'm a lousy singer, so don't ask. My family, including my husband Steve and son, Ian are all vegetarians. My husband and I are educators and our son is a 12th-grade honors student at an enriched studies magnet school.

What Adele S. is saying about this Meetup Group

Always delicious. It's fun to meet like minded people. We're all so different, and yet so very alike.
