How did you hear about "Vegan Life Colorado" meetup group?

I was just chatting with my husband about how nice it would be to meet some other vegans and thought I'd run a google search.

What draws you to a vegan group? (answer as simply or as detailed as you like)

In August 2011, I started cutting out meat because I had shockingly high cholesterol for a 20 year old - 204. My doctor sent me to a short class on ways to lower cholesterol and while I was in the waiting room before the class, Food, Inc. (documentary) was playing. I was disgusted and started doing more research, which left me appalled. I tried to go vegan immediately but failed many times - cheese and fried rice were awful addictions. I was finally successful in May 2013 when my husband also decided he didn't want to support the animal product industry.

What kind of activities would you like to see the group participate in, if you have anything specific you would like to do (note that our members are welcome to suggest and schedule vegan friendly events for consideration by our organizers)?

I'm just joining to see what everyone else is doing! I still feel pretty new to this game.

NOTE: We only require a "YES" RSVP if you plan to attend a gathering. Please don't RSVP "NO" to gatherings you don't plan to attend. "NO" RSVPs only create email for organizers. Only RSVP "NO" when you need to cancel a "YES". Make sense? Thanks!

Hello! I'm a 22 years old and I just moved back to the Denver area after a few years away. I will be starting college next semester (Spring 2014) so I can change careers - turns out that IT work isn't my thing.
