How did you hear about "Vegan Life Colorado" meetup group?

I've been using meetup off and on for several years, logged on today and just happened to see this site pop up and it's exactly what we needed!

What draws you to a vegan group? (answer as simply or as detailed as you like)

I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type II recently and we started watching documentaries on Netflix (Forks over Knives was probably the one that sealed the deal for us) and we want to eat healthier and have a healthier lifestyle and also not contribute to the waste of resources that is processing, transporting, eating meat. Plus we are trying to start a family this year and want to learn more about vegetarianism/veganism and pregnancy and raising a child on a plant-based diet.

What kind of activities would you like to see the group participate in, if you have anything specific you would like to do (note that our members are welcome to suggest and schedule vegan friendly events for consideration by our organizers)?

cooking lessons, informational sessions with guest speakers or experts in the subject, farmers market meetups...?

NOTE: We only require a "YES" RSVP if you plan to attend a gathering. Please don't RSVP "NO" to gatherings you don't plan to attend. "NO" RSVPs only create email for organizers. Only RSVP "NO" when you need to cancel a "YES". Make sense? Thanks!

My husband and I have been watching documentaries on plant-based eating and are planning on going vegetarian within the next few weeks and are interested in leaning more vegan but we have no experience or community with this. We would like advice!
