It's finally here! This Epic Trip has been anticipated for years! We'll be touring some of the coolest spots Utah has to offer, and we'll be cruising in the comfort of a luxury bus complete with televisions, bathrooms, and two kegs! For the lucky 40 who get their payments in first (SEE BOTTOM FOR PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS), here's what you can expect:

7:00 AM - Meet at the Orleans Arena and load the bus for our awesome adventure.

7:30 AM - Hit the road and tap the kegs!
10:30 AM - Drive through Zion National Park, through the tunnel, exiting via the incredibly scenic East Entrance.

1:00 PM - Arrive at Ruby's, at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. Have lunch and pick up any forgotten supplies.
2:00 PM - Get back in the bus and head for our final destination - Capitol Reef! This section will take us along the stunning (and sometimes scary - large cliffs on both sides of the road!) Utah Highway 12. We'll pass through Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Kodachrome Basin State Park along the way. It's one of the most scenic drives in America.

5:00 PM - Capitol Reef! Set up camp and get ready for tonight's pot luck.
7:00 PM - Potluck. Then relaxing and socializing around the campfire.

All Day - Various hikes throughout Capitol Reef as desired by the group. Sure stops will include one way hikes of Sulphur Creek and the Grand Wash Trail. These trips will be planned based on demand, and we'll try to maximize the usefulness of the bus so that the most people can see the most scenic parts of the park. Over the years, we've gotten really good at this, and you can be sure to have a fantastic hiking experience on any Epic Trip. Folks are also welcome to lounge around camp, or take some of the numerous hikes that originate near our campsite.

6:00 PM - The bus will take those who are interested in to the town of Torrey for dinner and a little culture.

8:00 AM - Up early for breakfast and pack up the bus. We have another adventure in store for us today!
9:00 AM - Ship out and head north...
10:30 AM - Arrive at Goblin Valley State Park! This place is amazing, and we'll set aside some time to go explore it!

12:00 PM - Get back on the bus for the long journey back to Vegas. Good thing we're not driving!
4:00 PM - Stop in Cedar City for late lunch/early dinner.
8:00 PM - Arrive back in Las Vegas, tired and satisfied from a truly Epic weekend!

Other Notes:

While I am a big fan of kids and dogs, the bus trip is not kid or dog friendly. Adults only.

I will not piece out this trip. Your $150 gets you a spot on the bus for your butt and your gear, a commemorative beverage vessel (mug, bottle, etc.) for the keg(s), admission to THREE parks (Zion, Capitol Reef, and Goblin Valley), and a spot at the campsite for your tent. We're also providing the firewood. These things are sold as a package. The keg(s), the admissions, and the camping are part of the bus trip. If you want to ride the bus but camp on your own, you may be able to hook up with someone who wants to camp with us but drive up on their own and split the cost of the trip. If you make such an arrangement, please clear it with me before you pay.

Your camping needs are your own responsibility. We will not be providing any food or drink (aside from copious beer), nor any camping supplies. If you need a tent or a sleeping bag, you may be able to borrow one from another member. Sharing is caring! Such items are also available for rent from places like REI.

The almanac for the dates of this Epic Trip show average highs around 90, with average lows around 60. Should feel mighty comfortable considering we're coming from Vegas! Watch the weather as the trip gets closer, and come prepared for heat, cold, or rain as needed.

Pack for comfort, but not to excess. Everything has to fit on the bus, and I will only bring as much firewood as space allows. You should bring a camp chair that folds into a bag, a cooler (only as big as you need), and minimal cooking supplies. Please share your stoves and cookware. If you plan to borrow others' cookware, please bring propane and wash any dishes you use. While the bus has ample space, it's not unlimited, so please pack mindfully.

There are no refunds for this trip. Once you buy your seat, it's yours. You are welcome to sell your spot to another member, just let me know if you do.
