At noon on December 4th Fathom Events will be showing Spirited Away (dubbed in English) to celebrate its 15th anniversary.
For those that have not seen Spirited Away (written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki), you are missing out on a very beautiful movie. The IMDB.com synopsis doesn't come close to describing the mystique of the story: "During her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits, and where humans are changed into beasts." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245429/
Cinemagic & IMAX in Hooksett, NH is the closest venue, but almost anyone who has seen the movie will agree that it's worth the four hour round-trip drive to see it in theater. Tickets can be pre-ordered at http://www.fathomevents.com/event/spirited-away, and are $14.75 each (including "convenience fee").
Weather permitting, I am going and am willing to take three others in my car. I will be leaving from Barre at 9:00am (time enough to get there, find the place, and have a potential potty break). Because I am going anyway, I won't ask for gas/toll money, but if you are willing to contribute I would appreciate it. If you are interested in riding with me, please send me a message for more information.
