Change in venue for this months hike. Instead of Fillmore Glen State Park, it is now Watkins Glen State Park "with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge". The plan is we will walk the Glen trail up and one of the Rim trails back down to the parking area.
We will meet behind the Victor Town Hall at 8:00am and carpool there. For those wishing to meet there we will meet in the main parking area 1009 N Franklin St, Watkins Glen, NY 14891 at 9:30. There is a fee per vehicle of $8 so we encourage folks to car pool.
This park is very photogenic so the pace will be easy to moderate depending on who comes. Bring your lunch to eat on the trail as we are hiking and wear sturdy boots for hiking.
