Paddle Around Chatam Island

Let's do an evening paddle to Chatam island. Leaving from Smuggler's cove means the crossing is short, leaving more time to explore the beautiful shore line of the island. This is suitable for paddlers with some experience on the ocean, as there will be some currents, and a chance that it could turn a bit lumpy if the wind comes up. I would like to maintain a speed of at least 2 knots. I want to be back well before dark. Maybe 2 or 2 1/2 hours total. If you are not sure you can handle it please email me and I will help you determine that. Hope to see you out there.

It's always great to savour the outdoors. Come on paddlers…join us! We even spent some time in the current of Baynes Channel, doing eddy-ins and eddy-outs.
This is how paddlers continue to increase their paddling skills and confidence. There are ALWAYS patient folks willing to pass on their skills for those who want to continue learning, which also increases the safety measures in a variety of paddling conditions.
Please come on out and have fun!! Next week's paddle to/from Chatham Island?
