Prep for NaNoWriMo: Two weeks to being ready for your novel!

For those of you who have never participated in NaNoWriMo before, it can be daunting, especially if you have no idea where to start. Why not go into the month-long writing marathon with a clear idea of the finish line? With these steps, you can be certain that you have ALL you'll need to start writing your novel from the word go - characters, setting, plot... it will all be at your fingertips.

(Note for newcomers: We actually meet in the Atrium, next door, but access is through the coffee shop.)

Glad it went well. I couldn't get there until later on and the glass doors were locked? Perhaps not the best venue for a public meet...

Sorry we missed you, Scott. After hours, you must enter the Atrium through Habit coffee shop or the doors off Blanshard, as they do lock the Yates entrance early.

Hope to see you next time.

i'm coming tonight but i have a tendency to get lost at such things the first time. i'm wearing a Supergirl t-shirt, black rimmed glasses like my profile, lil bit of tape on them. if anyone sees me going the wrong way or sitting around staring about, please wave and beckon me over? eep! nervous =) never been to this atrium place and it sounds big!

I'll be in a green Boba Fett tshirt wearing thick glasses like in my photo as well - and it'll be my first time going, too. I'll look out for you!

Excellent, the tips for preparing characters and an outline were very helpful and I learned a few tips I'll keep in mind as I write.

I live near uptown and I'm leaving my house in about five minutes so I might be early if anyone would like to say hello. Please see my response to Krysty's post to recognize me!

I'm looking forward to this meeting. Is there any prep work or things to bring to the meeting that would be helpful?

Nothing to bring save yourself and a notepad if you like. We will be touching on NaNo in general but in the main looking at all the steps to get read to write for a month straight. :-)
