For anyone with a writing project committed to getting it done.
We all know that it's way easier to talk about writing than it is to actually write. And as the weather improves, writing distractions only multiply. Yet many of us want to accomplish our writing goals. One proven method is to surround yourself with like-minded writers and form a social contract to spend an allotted period of time actually writing.
So, whether it's a novel, screenplay, memoir, poem, school essay or work memo you intend to work on, sit among other like-minded folk determined to getting words down in a solid writing session. Not a critique group or workshop, just writing!
An opportunity to write in a supportive and motivational environment to help achieve your goals!
Here's how it'll work: a brief introduction, followed by 45 minutes of writing (no talking, at least not in the room, though you're welcome to come and go). Then a 15-minute break, followed by another 45 minutes of writing. We wrap up around 9 pm.
The main objective is a productive writing session, whatever you're working on. Of course, it's always great to also connect with other writers, so you're also welcome to hang out awhile after the session and talk shop.
A few small points to bear in mind: first, the level of background noise at a pub can be a little hard to predict. So feel free to bring headphones or ear plugs/buds if that assists your concentration. Also, since space is limited, please be considerate and change your RSVP if you've registered for the session and find for whatever reason that you can't attend.
Finally, since we're meeting at the Bent Mast, it'd be decent of everyone to purchase a beverage or menu item of some kind in support of our local establishment!
