In 2019, 31 years after nuking the city, Kaneda, a bike gang leader, tries to save his friend Tetsuo from a secret government project. He battles against anti-government activists, greedy politicians, irresponsible scientists and a powerful military leader until Tetsuo's supernatural power suddenly manifest. A final battle is fought in Tokyo Olympiad exposing the experiment's secrets.

ABOUT THE VENUE
As a program and art house cinema, the Filmcasino mainly shows films from European productions, but also from Asia and Latin America as well as US independent films. There is a close cooperation with the Polyfilm film distribution company. In normal operation, there are two to five performances a day. In addition, the Filmcasino shows premieres of Austrian and European films, often followed by discussion groups and lectures, thematic programs and special screenings (architecture film series, Cine Morning with free childcare, cinema & cake, Filmwunder children's film series, etc.) and hosts film festivals such as the Latin Film Lounge , Japannual and the Slash Film Festival.
