• Vilnius Tech Leads - The One with Accessibility

    Vinted HQ

The theme for the second meetup of the fifth season: accessibility.

Every one of us works on building technology. We want the technologies we create to be useful to most people possible. We want everyone to be able to have access to these technologies, no matter their disability or impairment. Tools like text-to-speech, closed-captioning, keyboard shortcuts, specific customizations enable more people to use the power of the software we design. Let's discuss accessibility and get better at it together. Here's who are going to tell their stories and share their experience:

Glafira Zhur (Team Lead @ SpurIT)
Alius Kveinys (Product Designer @ Vinted)
Jurij Nesvat (Senior Test Engineer @ Devbridge)

You'll be able to attend the event in person and we'll also stream it on youtube: https://youtu.be/xk08XxsYWEA. If you want to attend in person, please register here: https://forms.gle/XhapcY2X8BGQE5vy6 (limited to 50 participants, so please only register if you'll definitely attend). See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The One with Build vs. Buy

    Vinted HQ

The theme for the first meetup of the fifth season: build vs. buy.

The software development quandary of whether to build versus buy is quite common. All of us have experienced it in one way or another. To build is to have the opportunity to create something specifically for the needs at hand. To buy is to get something today, instead of waiting for the right solution. Sometimes, this decision feels like a coin flip - with neither choice perfectly addressing the problem we're trying to solve. How do we make these decisions? What's important (timeline, budget, risks)? Here's who are going to tell their stories and share their experience:

Audrius Bugas (VP of Technology @ HomeToGo)
Roman Bugaev (CTO @ Flo Health)
Lukas Diržys (Engineering Team Lead @ Vinted)

You'll be able to attend the event in person and we'll also stream it on youtube. See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The One with Mental Health

    Online event

The theme for the seventh and final meetup of the fourth season: mental health.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It can even affect our physical health. We can't lead others if we ourselves are not ok mentally. We have to take care of our own mental health, and we have to know how to help the people in our teams to take care of theirs. Here's who are going to tell their stories and share their experience:

    Veronika Siurbytė-Bucur (CMO @ Mindletic)
Nina Pivavarchyk (People and Culture Lead @ Cortlex)

    See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The Secure One

    Online event

The theme for the sixth meetup of the fourth season: security.

In ancient times, it was inevitable to protect your most valuable assets - gold, land, food, etc. In modern society, the main asset is information. So we protect it, and not only that - we empower to make the best of it. Information is everywhere, which makes information security an essential part of any organization. During this meetup, you'll hear stories about security, struggles from backstage, and the hidden potential of neurodiversity:

    Vytautas Krakauskas (Vinted)
Markas Zbarskis (TeraSky) & Tal Vardi (leading Ro’im Rachok program)

    See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The Remote One

    Online event

The theme for the fifth meetup of the fourth season: remote.

We've discussed distributed teams and org-design in previous meetups. During both of those, we've touched on remote, but now let's dedicate a meetup fully to remote work. Remote can have many benefits. How to take advantage of those? But there are also downsides and fears. Will employees slack off when not in the office? How to mitigate the drawbacks? Let's discuss these and other topics, starting with the stories from:

Ilma Nausėdaitė (Co-founder & COO @ The Remote Company)
Edgar Fukson (Product and Project Manager @ Learning Tapestry)

    See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The Impossible One

    Online event

The theme for the fourth meetup of the fourth season: impossible.

Vilnius Tech Leads felt impossible five years ago. We didn't even dare to dream that far ahead. Let's talk about impossible objectives. Sometimes, those goals are set by our leads and we are compelled to try and reach them. Some other times, preposterous goals are created for us by us. Let's discuss what kind of skills, structures, situations help and allow us to try and reach the seemingly impossible. Here's who gonna tell their stories:

    Eglė Radvilė (CTO @ Vilnius)
Audrius Bugas (VP Technology @ HomeToGo)

    See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The One with Conflict

    Online event

The theme for the third meetup of our fourth season: conflict.

The word "conflict" is often associated with negative situations. But inherently, conflict is neither good nor bad. In fact, engaging in conflict can have positive effects on relationships and organizations. How do we engage in conflict? How do we manage them when we see others engaged in them? Where do conflicts live in our organization's culture? Here's who's gonna try to answer these and other questions by telling their stories:

Andrius Baranauskas (Senior Product Leader @ ex-Vinted/Carousell/Booking)
Karolis Noreika (Agile Coach @ Danske)

    See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The Stressful One

    Online event

The theme for the second meetup of our fourth season: stress.

Feeling overloaded? Struggling to cope? You're not alone. Leadership is a demanding job. It's challenging to be effective when under a lot of stress. Stress can be harmful and even hurt your health. All leaders must understand what triggers stress/anxiety and learning to deal with it. Let's discuss how to help ourselves and then to help others. Here's who going to share their stories:

Aliona Viršutienė (Director of Engineering @ Vinted)
Justas Gudavičius (Lead of Engineering Unit @ Devbridge)
Gintarė Morkūnaitė (Product Owner @ Satalia)

    See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The One with Org-Design

    Online event

The theme for the first meetup of our fourth season: org-design.

Most organizations try to create structures that allow for efficient decisions, workflows, and clear responsibilities. And yet no two organizations are quite the same. They are organized differently, have distinct structures, and divide up responsibilities in their own way. What's the best way to design an organization? Or is there the right way? These and other questions will be discussed during this meetup. We'll also have speakers telling their own stories about org-design:

Agnius Paradnikas (Development Department Manager @ Visma)
    Vidas Vasiliauskas (CEO & Co-Founder @ Teamhood)

    See you there!

  • Vilnius Tech Leads - The One with Testing

    Vinted HQ

The theme for the fifth meetup of our third season: testing.

To make sure that the software we build is of a certain quality, we test. In some organizations, all of the testing is done by engineers themselves. In others, there are teams dedicated to testing. What's the right way? Is there a right way? Let's discuss and hear stories about testing and the role of testing in our teams:

Benas Bakevičius (Lead Test Engineer @ Devbridge)
Edita Andriuškienė (Software Engineer @ Zenitech)
Justinas Žvirblis (QA Lead @ Genius Sports)

    See you there!
