For what tasks do you use Vim?

None as yet. Was looking to start web development. figured a text editor that is ergonomic, and programmable may be a good place to start. For pushing files to a pi over ssh, it may be nicer than jumping to gui, and though nano is great for simple modifications, as a text editor for more extensive development, I need something else.

New to the floss scene recently returned from oggcamp. Inspired have started to look closer to home and found london has more to offer than traffic jams.

What frank t. is saying about this Meetup Group

Nice welcoming bunch of people, as a novice vimmer, I wasn't made to feel uncomfortable. Some fantastic add ons there and look forward to having tested some for the next event. The live editing with "closur/fireplace" was really cool and to see someone playing word "chords" caught my imagination too. The power of vim has definitely stuck with me. Explaining to my non techie partner was less thrillng... till next month
