We’re a multicultural group of supportive, LGBT women in their 30’s to 50’s, with diverse life experiences, couples and singles. Our purpose is to socialize and cultivate new and lasting friendships with other lesbian women while enjoying a variety of wine-related events, from wine maker dinners/brunches, daytrips to Santa Barbara/Santa Ynez, and wine festivals, to summer bbqs and year-round dinner parties, yes, even wine movie nights, and of course, wine tastings (at vineyards and/or at members’ homes).
We hope to learn together everything from Alsace to Marlborough, Malbec to Zinfandel, bouquet to taste. We love Italian wine, French wine, New World wine, and all other wines! Anyone who has had a wine steal their breath away, or a wine and food pairing that left them floating on cloud nine, or just seeking a new adventure in the world of wine, this meet-up is for you! Newbies, enthusiasts, wine snobs, and cork dorks are all welcomed.
Let's swirl, sip, and have fun!
NEW MEMBERS: All members must post a recognizable picture of themselves; we need to see who we're looking out for when you come to your first meet-up event. :) Any requests for membership that are not accompanied by a description of yourself and a picture will be wait-listed until they are complete with this information. We do this to make sure our personal profiles are shared only within the group.
For prospective members who are not "out" and have reservation about privacy, please note that, unless you become the Primary Organizer of the group, nobody outside Vin Fatales can see your photo.
All new members have 90 days to attend an event. This will enable new members to quickly meet other members and to begin to feel a part of the group. Because we are interested in having an active group, new members not attending a meet-up event in 90 days after joining will be considered inactive and subject to removal from the group. There's bound to be something going on that peaks your interest! And if not, suggest an event!
EXISTING MEMBERS: While we hope you will remain an active member of the group, please be aware it is a group requirement that you participate in our events at least once a quarter. If there is ever a time when you realize you will not be able to be an active part of the group for a defined period of time, please let the Organizer know so you won't be removed from the group. We understand life gets hectic sometimes!
RSVP's: Make sure to RSVP “Yes” for all events you plan to attend. RSVP’ing not only helps the host to plan for a true number of guests, it also allows the Organizer to gauge interest in various events offered by the group. Please only RSVP "Yes" for events you are sure you can attend. A "Yes" RSVP should be treated like any other commitment you would make. Please update changes to your previous RSVP's with as much notice as possible. Members who fail to show up to 3 events for which they have RSVP’d “Yes” (emergencies excepted) are subject to removal from the group.
New members must be approved by the Organizer
