What we're about

4V is a social meetup group targeted to Denverites who enjoy music, food, drink, art, classic films, conversation and camaraderie. The group is appreciative of Denver’s diverse, inclusive, dynamic, progressive culture. We are open to singles, couples, of all ages, cultures and backgrounds . We schedule recurrent monthly events and one time events. We sometimes go to a wine bar that plays vinyl, hit the summer outdoor music events, gallery and art events, hiking/snowshoeing, wine and cheese tasting, brunch and blues on the patio, holiday activities, or when the weather gets cooler – vinyl and fondue.

VINYL – Often old school 33 1/3 RPM. We attend all types of music events, City Park Jazz, Denver Botanical Gardens or Hudson Gardens or Red Rocks concerts, cover bands such as Citizen Dan, rockabilly such as Kerry Pastine at Lincolns, Flat Out Jazz with Cassey Barnett at LaCour, Freddy Sr. at The Pec, or any of Denver’s great jazz or blues clubs.

VINO – fruit of the vine, but also mixed drinks, micro brews, and non-alcoholic options.

VITTLES – Gethro, we ain’t talkin granny’s possum roast. We are talking small plates, local sourced, sushi, brick oven pizza, fine cheese, scratch bread / pastries, fondue, and dark chocolate.

VIDEO – Simply the means by which we enjoy classic films, often in the comfort of a group members viewing room with a potluck dinner. How about Casablanca, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Dr. Strangelove, Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex……, Easy Rider, Dirty Dancing, or The Big Chill. Any movie favorite that you would like to suggest?

Mike Zito, Winner of the 2018 Blues Rock Artist of the Year at the 39th Annual Blues Music Awards serves as the band leader and front man of this 8 piece Big Blues Band Show featuring a special Rock-n-Roll Tribute to Chuck Berry plus Zito's original music with a sensational brass section including Special Guest Artist Vanessa Collier. For 12 years, Eric Demmer was the saxophonist for B.B. King, and prior to that, for Clarence Goutemouth Brown. Similarly, trumpeter James Boulet also played for many years in the B.B. King band. The second guitarist in this all-star lineup will be the legendary Tom Holland, former guitarist of the late harmonica legend James Cotton. With Mike’s original rhythm section of drummer Matthew Johnson, award winning bass guitarist Terry Dry and Freddie King’s former keyboardist Lewis Stephens also joining the band, it just doesn’t get any better to create that Big Blues Band sound and a spectacular show except it does get better with our special guest Vanessa Collier! If you haven’t been fortunate enough to meet Vanessa and witness one of her head-turning, fiery, and passionate performances, you should definitely make sure you do. As a master musician and multi-instrumentalist, Vanessa Collier, weaves funk, soul, rock, and blues into every powerful performance and she is downright impressive. With soulful vocals, searing saxophone, and witty songwriting, Vanessa is blazing a trail, racking up an impressive arsenal of honor’s, and has already singled herself out as an artist of distinction. Vanessa will join Zito for this one-of-a-kind, only in Colorado special tour.
