Drum Circle Facilitator

Newport News, VA
Hometown: newport news

Organizer since:

June 6, 2011

Are you from VA Beach? If not from where?

No but sometimes I wish I was.

What days of the week are best for you to drum and would you travel out of your city to go to a Drum Circle?

Any time I am free

What does it mean to you to be in a Drum Circle?

I love making new friends in a new community, by sharing your inner Rhythm Spirit with everyone. When knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life by playing the drum and just being there. Creating music in the moment with everyone else and being transported to someplace else while drumming in one place. When you play by yourself that is enjoyable, but when you play with others that feels like heaven. Because what you felt before by one drum is multiplied by many drummers. Drumming in a drum circle is connecting to everything and everyone around you, in a way that words cannot do. That’s why you don’t even have to speak the same language because music is the universal language of life Drum Circles are a way of sharing your inner soul with others by letting them feel your emotions through your vibrations. When individual energy emanates into the circle and is collectively felt we become in sync with each other’s inner spirit.

What hand percussion instruments do you have or play?

Djembe, pandera, tamborin, shekera, bongos, congas, cajon, marracas, timbales, taiko drums, bodram and swissel sticks... just kidding I made up the last instrument.

Can you afford $6.50 a year to support your website which offers you fun filled Drum Circles throughout the entire year, instruments discounts, useful articles on drumming and promise to pay the annual membership fee right now and not later?

I think it is important for everyone to pay their fair share of the things they use and enjoy in life. I think it is only fair to support this website that cost the organizer over $240 a year and pays for it out of his pocket. Everyone benefits from the website, so why shouldn't we pitch in to cover the cost of using it. Where else are you going to find all the Drum Circles you can go to in VA.? Even if you go to just one Drum Circle, it is worth the small yearly fee. This website tries to find all types of Hand Drumming events, not just in VA but wherever they are in the US, and shares them with all the members. It gives the members the chance to join in on volunteer events for the elderly, physically disabled and mentally challenged. After you have been to one these events, you feel like a million dollars, because you used your talents as a gift to those who needed it the most. And at the same time, you will always have a great time doing so.

I am a Drum Circle Facilitator who really enjoys helping people who feel they can't play hand drums, to find their inner rhythms and have them share it with the group. Creating Unity in the Community with Drum Circles ™ is what I do.
