Sculptures - Clay & Plaster: 6 session workshop
In this six week program for students of all skill levels, students will learn traditional and modern processes to produce two different three-dimensional sculptures using clay and plaster. This workshop includes all required materials. Students will explore and make: A casting with plaster of Paris A hand built clay additive sculpture Students may also be interested in taking the companion workshop Sculptures - Wire & Sand Cement. DETAILS Ages: 18+ Dates: Sunday Mornings - September 23 to November 4, 2018 (No Class October 7) Time: 11:00am - 1:30pm Sessions: 6 Price: $180 for non-members, $160 with a membership Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate Registration Deadline: Sunday September 16, 2018 WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN Creating molds using plaster of Paris Subtractive sculpture carving methods Clay sculpture design techniques Painting techniques for sculptures ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Originally from Montreal, Colleen Dee is a BFA graduate in Fine Arts and Design where she spent 20 years in the Marketing and Advertising industry as an international Graphic Designer. In her more recent years, she has taught Art & Crafts these last 7 years to children and adults in Vietnam, Cambodia and Canada. Lately she has put aside her commercial skills to focus on her fine art roots. "I love creative expression in so many art forms and have always enjoyed working with different materials and mediums. I'm very active in the artisan arena with my many interests: paper mache, paper art, printmaking, sculpting and photo art as well as giving workshops. I enjoy giving talks about my international teaching experiences working with children and adults". MATERIALS All materials are included in the workshop fee and will be provided.
