Come hear about this group trip to Sicily with the organizers at a presentation meeting to be held at the Italian For Fun! office downtown Nashville.
Join fellow travelers from Nashville, TN for the excursion of a lifetime to the eastern coast of Sicily during the month of October 2014. An eight night stay in the aristocratic ancient hill town of Taormina, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with Italian language lessons, cooking classes, some meals included at the school dining hall. Day trips are being planned for you to Mount Etna, Siracusa, Catania and the sights of Taormina including the Greek Amphitheater.
Idyllically located on a rocky promontory high above the sea, Taormina has been the most popular tourist destination in Sicily for a couple of hundreds of years, ever since it became an integral part of the Grand Tour. Beautifully restored medieval buildings, breathtaking views around every corner and a giddy network of winding streets strewn with shops, bars and restaurants make for a perfect holiday spot.
Taormina is served by its own cable car which ferries tourists to and from the seaside resorts down along the coast. Extensive beaches, rocky coves, tiny islands (such as the famous Isola Bella) and sea stacks abound, making this enchanting coastline a firm favorite with Sicilians and visitors alike.
