Volunteer Wellington is an independent non-profit organisation that provides the essential voluntary workforce needed to maintain and sustain the work of 372 community-based organisations in the greater Wellington region. We assist and train organisations in the management of volunteers, to enhance the experience for both the organisation and the volunteer.
Volunteer Wellington is an incorporated Charitable Trust registered in Wellington in August 1992. Volunteer Wellington is recognised by the IRD as a charitable organisation.
The purpose of this meetup group is to spread the word about the benefits of volunteering through our community more effectively. We will do this by arranging a meetup group to provide information about volunteering and other sessions to explore volunteer roles and activities.
We are excited to bring back our Southern Cross mix and mingles!

Come and hear from these local organisations:
The Vulnerable Support Charitable Trust (Take 10)
A registered charity keen on improving the wellbeing of Wellington’s most vulnerable people; whether they’re youth who need help in the city at night, or tamariki living in hardship. You may know them through their work as ‘Take 10,’ a late-night “safe zone” on Courtenay Place for youth, with free water, phone charging, medical help, refuge, and advice. We provide a safe space to “take 10” for those who may need a break from drinking, need help, or just want a break. Their other initiative, “Do Some Good,’ helps Wellington businesses find opportunities to help the schools and kiwi kids who need it most. With Do Some Good, we want to help build connections between businesses and low decile schools to generate positive change in how we look after our people.
Catholic Social Services
The social outreach agency of the Archdiocese of Wellington. Their work includes social work, short term therapeutic interventions, prison chaplaincy, hospital chaplaincy, support for refugee resettlement, community advocacy and support for people going through loss and change through the Seasons for Growth programme.
