We have been quiet for the past couple of months... we are now back!
But.. wait for one second. Was there ever a website dedicated to our local community? The answer is no, there still isn't one. We should however have a prototype ready by the event day.
I will be going through what I have been up to in the past few weeks: building a website for our local community - all in Vue, of course! I will do a show & tell, run through the project structure and highlight what else I am looking to add to it. The aim for open-sourcing this project is to have each one of you contribute to it. After all, you will know better what features are worth adding and what not. It should be a good starting point for those of you who have always wanted to give contributing a go!
After the show & tell we will transition into a workshop setup where everybody can get the project set-up on their machines and start working on a feature or two. For those of you unfamiliar with the approach, we have ran a couple of workshop sessions last year following a *mobbing* format. We will split in groups of 3-5 people and pair program on the task by switching the keyboard around every 7 minutes.
We may still have some time for somebody else to do a talk. If this is something you fancy or if you have a friend or colleague who wants to then give us a shout!
6:30 - Arrive at our venue
6:30-6:45 - Food, drinks, chat
6:45-7:00 - Intro
7:00-7:15 - Manchester VueJS build show & tell
7:15-7:20 - Quick break
7:20-8:00 - Workshop: let's start contributing
8:00-8:05 - Wrap up, what's next?
8:05-8:30 - Social
Don't forget, we are always on the lookout for speakers. Did you work on something exciting lately? Or maybe you think you can fill a gap on something we have not covered just yet. If that's so, then step in and do a 5-15min talk. It will be greatly appreciated by your colleagues in the community!
