Quick guide: Length=3 Pace=3 Terrain=3 Hills=3 (walk grades guide available at www.meetup.com/WAMMidlands/pages/[masked]/Walk_Grade_Descriptions)
Join WAMSD on this WAMMble that takes you through the heart of classic, rural and village Cotswolds. The route avoids the over-touristy Bourton-on-the-Water but includes the hopelessly picturesque Lower and Upper Slaughter, two of Gloucestershire’s most beautiful villages, and the rolling fields of the Windrush valley. We will head south an east along Warden’s Way, where it meets the Windrush Way and later the river itself. Crossing the river and then brancing left along the Macmillan Way and then the Wardens Way we will head through the Slaughters and back around to Naunton.
We will meet at the Black Horse Inn in Naunton. Do not park in the pub car park, please park considerately on local village roads. We will start walking promptly at 11.30am. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to park and locate us. Please bring a packed lunch as we will stop for lunch a few miles into the walk.
Make sure you are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions on the day. Please see www.meetup.com/WAMMidlands/pages/[masked]/Walks'_suggested_clothing_and_kit_list for details of a suggested clothing and kit list.
